Monday update: York coronavirus case rate falls to 355

A further 67 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Monday, 26 July).

That takes the cumulative case total to 16,907 – giving an overall infection rate of 8,027.3 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 621 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 409 (-39.7%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 355.6 new cases per 100,000 people (749 cases in the week to 22 July). That’s down from 474.8 in the previous seven days (1,000 cases in the week to 15 July).

The English national average is 499.4, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 589.9.

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and one in the last seven days (as at 26 July).

In North Yorkshire, there were 209 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 41,942 – an infection rate of 6,786.1 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 2,482 cases in Ryedale (up 19) – case rate 283.5 per 100K
  • 7,058 in Selby (up 19) – 538.5
  • 10,908 in Harrogate (up 57) – 485.6
  • 6,110 in Hambleton (up 34) – 625.6
  • 7,578 in Scarborough (up 44) – 568.2
  • 3,755 in Richmondshire (up 23) – 491.3
  • 4,051 in Craven (up 13) – 644.

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today, or across the weekend.

That leaves the total at 601 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last death was reported on 21 July.

There were four coronavirus patients admitted to the trust on 18 July, and 30 in the previous seven days (up six).
