Monday update: Six more coronavirus cases confirmed in York

A further six coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Monday, 10 May).

That takes the cumulative total to 12,320 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,849.5 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 37 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down one (-2.6%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 13.8 new cases per 100,000 people (29 cases in the week to 6 May). That’s up from 21.8 in the previous seven days (46 cases in the week to 29 April).

The English national average is 21.4, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 41.5.

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area in the last seven days.

In North Yorkshire, there were 19 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 30,066  – an infection rate of 4,864.6 cases per 100K.

There are 1,898 cases in Ryedale (no change), 5,153 in Selby (up nine), 7,709 in Harrogate (up six), 4,219 in Hambleton (up one), 5,598 in Scarborough (no change), 2,644 in Richmondshire (up two) and 2,845 in Craven (up one).

There were no more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 591 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last death reported at the trust was on 21 April.
