Monday update: Just 12 new Covid cases in York – as weekly rate drops below 100

A further 12 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Monday, 15 February) – the lowest daily rate for some weeks.

It takes the cumulative total to 11,584 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,500 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 178 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – a decrease of 92 (-34.1%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 91.6 new cases per 100,000 people (193 cases in the week to 11 February). That’s down from 144.8 in the previous seven days (305 cases in the week to 4 February).

The English national average is 157.5, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 165.4.

There have been three more coronavirus-related death in the York council area, and 15 in the last seven days (down six / 28.6%).

In North Yorkshire, there were 60 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 27,230  – an infection rate of 4,405.8 cases per 100K.

There are 1,723 cases in Ryedale (up four), 4,405 in Selby (up 11), 7,042 in Harrogate (up 14), 3,906 in Hambleton (up nine), 5,190 in Scarborough (up ten), 2,372 in Richmondshire (up six) and 2,592 in Craven (up six).

There were three more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

That takes the total to 547 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
