Monday update: 40 new coronavirus cases in York and North Yorkshire

Another 13 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Monday, 7 June).

That takes the cumulative total to 12,484 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,927.3 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 62 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up five (8.8%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 28.5 new cases per 100,000 people (60 cases in the week to 3 June). That’s up from 21.8 in the previous seven days (46 cases in the week to 27 May).

The English national average is 40.6, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 43.8.

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area in the last seven days.

In North Yorkshire, there were 27 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 30,458 – an infection rate of 4,928 cases per 100K.

There are 1,897 cases in Ryedale (no change), 5,282 in Selby (up 12), 7,822 in Harrogate (up seven), 4,269 in Hambleton (up two), 5,652 in Scarborough (up three), 2,664 in Richmondshire (up one) and 2,872 in Craven (up two).

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today – or at the weekend.

That leaves the total at 592 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last death was reported on 3 June.
