Monday update: 19 more coronavirus cases in York

Another 19 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Monday, 14 December).

That takes the cumulative total to 5,918 – giving an overall infection rate of 2,809.8 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days there have been 144 positive Covid-19 tests in York – an increase of 16 (12.5%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 62.2 new cases per 100,000 people (131 cases in the week to 10 December). That’s down from 63.1 in the previous seven days (133 cases in the week to 3 December).

At the University of York, there were six individuals self isolating due to a positive Covid-19 test today. Since the previous update on Thursday it has been notified of no new cases.

At York St John University, there was one person self isolating due to a positive test today.

In North Yorkshire, there were 69 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 14,562 – an infection rate of 2,356.1 cases per 100K.

There are 808 cases in Ryedale (up six), 2,314 in Selby (up 16), 3,863 in Harrogate (up 12), 1,814 in Hambleton (up eight), 3,245 in Scarborough (up 15), 1,076 in Richmondshire (up five) and 1,442 in Craven (up seven).

There was one more coronavirus-related death reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 328 across the trust.
