Monday update: 148 more coronavirus cases in York, as infection rate doubles in a week to 240

Another 148 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Monday, 28 June).

That takes the cumulative case total to 13,545 – giving an overall infection rate of 6,431.1 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 637 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 357 (127.5%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 240.7 new cases per 100,000 people (507 cases in the week to 24 June). That’s up from 103.5 in the previous seven days (218 cases in the week to 17 June).

The English national average is 128.7, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 156.2.

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and none in the last seven days (as at 28 June).

In North Yorkshire, there were 177 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 32,188 – an infection rate of 5,208 cases per 100K.

There are 1,987 cases in Ryedale (up ten), 5,623 in Selby (up 25), 8,330 in Harrogate (up 57), 4,432 in Hambleton (up 16), 5,857 in Scarborough (up 28), 2,862 in Richmondshire (up 21) and 3,097 in Craven (up 20).

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today – or at the weekend.

That leaves the total at 593 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last death was reported on 15 June.

There was one coronavirus patient admitted to the trust on 20 June, and six in the previous seven days (up three).
