Monday update: 13 fewer Covid patients in York NHS Trust hospitals

A further 71 coronavirus cases were reported in York today (Monday, 16 May) – including all the cases since Friday.

That takes the cumulative case total to 65,516 – giving an overall infection rate of 31,048.5 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 495 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 178 (56.2%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 92.9 new cases per 100,000 people (196 cases). It was 109 on Friday.

The English national average is 95.4, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 88.3.

There have been 10 coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area in the last seven days (up 3). The total number of deaths in the city is 486.
