Lorry fire stops traffic on the A1M

A lorry fire has brought traffic to a standstill on the A1M this afternoon (Wednesday, 15 January).

At 12.54pm, North Yorkshire Police posted on X: “We’re currently in attendance at a HGV fire on the A1 (M) south at Junction 42 (South Milford).

“Traffic is currently stopped on the north and southbound carriageways. Motorists should expect delays and if possible find an alternative route.”
