City must be alert for a large Altrincham attacking threat today, including top scoring midfield and striking duo Josh Hancock and Jordan Hulme, both on 14 goals. However, one player who will be licking his lips ahead of this one is former York attacking-midfielder, Elliot Durrell.
Durrell signed for York at the beginning of this season, but quickly fell out of favour under Steve Watson and was sold to Alty in January. The 30-year-old has scored 6 goals in just 8 appearences for Alty, including a brace to secure a semi-final place for his team last week. You would think he will be keen to prove a point on his return to Bootham Crescent today.
Lots of nerves out there, as supporters await the kick off. Here are some of the reactions…
Let’s hope for celebrations like this later on this afternoon. #ycfc pic.twitter.com/UAz1PP34ni

The Minstermen beat Altrincham 3-1 in their opening National League North game this season; an own goal before half time and two second half strikes from Jordan Burrow and Josh Tait securing the victory.
This is the fourth fixture between the two sides this year. Altrincham come to Bootham Crescent having already won two games 1-0 here this season, meaning City were knocked out of the FA Trophy and FA Cup.
The two teams have taken to the field to warm up and the tension is building inside a crowdie packed Bootham Crescent!
After taking over as York City manager at the start of 2019, former Newcastle defender Steve Watson has revitalised hope around the club after a change in fortunes that has seen the club make a serious challenge for promotion for the first time since being relegated from the National League three years ago.
Now his side are just two games away and he has described this as the biggest game of his career, despite once playing in the Champions League!

Alty are unchanged from their hard fought 3-2 victory over Chester in the quarter finals. Top scorers Josh Hancock and Jordan Hulme start, whilst Elliot Durell returns to Bootham Crescent after scoring a brace against Chester.

The teams are in, and not too many surprises for City as top scorer Jordan Burrow starts up front. Midfielder Adam Buxton makes his second appearance on loan from Morecambe after an impressive first outing against Alfreton in the last game before the lockdown.
Steve McNulty captains the side and Pete Jameson, reliable as ever, starts in goal.
Good afternoon!
