Leeds Festival announced last night that two of their stages, BBC Radio 1 and Aux, will remain closed for the whole of the festival following high winds from Storm Lillian.
Leeds Festival runs annually in Bramham Park, near Wetherby, every August bank holiday weekend from Wednesday through until Sunday.
Organisers of the Bramham Park festival were forced to close three stages on Friday, due to health and safety concerns, which included the now reopened Chevron stage.
Storm Lilian brought strong winds exceeding 70 mph yesterday (21 August), which saw many disruptions across northern England and Wales.
Leeds Festival stated on X: “Unfortunately the health and safety team have now confirmed we will not be able to use the BBC Radio 1 tent & stage tomorrow or Sunday. We are devastated for you and of course the artists that were eager to play.
“This is the same for the Aux stage too. Mother nature has played her part.
“On the positive side, we are able to be reasonably sure the Chevron will be fit to play tomorrow and will be opened by The Useless Hotline at midday.”
