TK Maxx will leave York city centre early next month.
The popular shop on Coney Street will close on Wednesday, 7 September.
Signs in the store windows direct shoppers to the Monks Cross branch after it closes.
Its departure will allow the Hard Rock Café to move into the vacant building.
As YorkMix revealed in May, Hard Rock Cafe International signed with the York-based property development company North Star – owner of 48 Coney Street – to open there.
North Star believes the famous rock’n’roll brand will kick-start the regeneration of the city’s high street through the creation of more than 75 jobs.
“The location plans to showcase an open kitchen concept as well as Hard Rock Cafe’s new brand style that will draw on inspiration from the city,” Hard Rock said.
The 32,000 sq ft building has been a TK Maxx store since 2010 and was previously a Boots shop.
When North Street bought the building in 2021, TK Maxx had five years left to run on its lease – but with break options.
