Drivers have been warned this evening that a large pothole has appeared on the York outer ring road.
It’s on the A1237 at Poppleton.
A City of York Council spokesperson said: “We’ve been made aware of a large pothole on the eastbound carriageway of the A1237 bridge at Poppleton.
“Road users should take extra care until the situation is resolved.”
One driver who has been on this stretch of road said: “It’s pretty much from one side of the road to the other, it’s unavoidable.”
City of York Council has been working for weeks to repair bridges on this stretch of the outer ring road.
The work was criticised for creating rush hour gridlock. It then overran, but was due to be finished by Friday (21 July).
