A prominent fashion store has closed after coming to the end of its lease.
The Vintage Store on Parliament Street is now shut, and all stock has been removed.
It brings to an end a short-term shopping experience, which began when the shop opened in the former home of New Look in August 2021.
It was then the second shop opened by entrepreneurs Aaron Thornhill and Kane Blythe. They opened the first in their home town of Hull in April of the same year.
There are now also branches in Newcastle, Liverpool and Meadowhall at Sheffield.
The large York store had to move out – as the building is soon to undergo a big change.
It was bought in 2021 by York developers Grantside and North Star.
Planning was secured to transform the underused upper floors into 19 holiday apartments plus a roof terrace – and this part of the building has now been sold to serviced apartment specialist By Mansley Group.
The remaining ground floor and basement space is set to undergo an extensive refurbishment to bring it up to modern standards, say Grantside and North Star.
