Katie Rough’s family carry out random acts of kindness in her memory
Katie Rough’s family in York have been carrying out random acts of kindness in memory of their daughter who was murdered by a teenager just over four years ago.
Her mum, Alison, and other family members have been putting together hampers every month to surprise key workers at York Hospital.
They have also given some to 999 crews.
Katie was just seven when she died after being found with stab wounds in a field in Woodthorpe, in January 2017.
Her mum, Alison says: “For some people it seems such a long time ago, but we talk about Katie and think about Katie every day.
“We just wanted to do something else in her name”
“We have been dropping off hampers for a while as a family, but I put a message on Facebook thinking well I will just get a few donations it’s just taken off.
We have now got an Amazon wishlist and any donations will be sent directly to me or Bethany Rough.”
On Wednesday the family made three deliveries to York Hospital A&E, the Security Department and the Children’s Centre as they had to be at the hospital for an appointment.
