The Millie Wright Children’s Charity are holding their second annual Family Fun Run this weekend.
The charity was launched in May 2022 by Ceri and Nigel Wright, in memory of their daughter Millie. The charity provides hands-on practical, emotional, and financial support for families with children diagnosed with life threatening non-cancerous conditions.
The Family Fun Run will take place on Saturday 13 May in Poppleton, York.
Co-founder of The Millie Wright Children’s Charity, Ceri Wright said, “We are thrilled to be having our second Family Fun Run in memory of our beloved daughter Millie, on what would have been her 15th birthday.
“Our event is for everyone, for all ages and abilities. We really encourage you to come in fancy dress, so lace up your trainers and join us for a fantastic day of fun and fundraising.”
The Family Fun Run will start at 10am from the Green in Upper Poppleton, York. Runners must pre-register to take part and ticket prices are £12 each for 5k (£40 for 2 adults and 2 children), or £20 each for 10k (18 and over only).
YorkMix will be there supporting the event, with YorkMix Radio presenter Victoria Charles hosting – and our mascot Mixie will be there too.
The Family Fun Run is sponsored by Harrowells Solicitors, and also marks the one year anniversary of The Millie Wright Children’s Charity.
After the run, there will be live music at The Lord Collingwood from JRlive and The Naked Eye from 12pm.

Their plans for this year also include the introduction of Family Support Workers to provide much needed help and support for parents.
