There are few things Fiona Brook cannot create out of sugarpaste.
From politicians to iPads, rock stars to accountants, she can render them in a form that’s both beautiful – and delicious.
This week Fiona’s business, Cakes By No More Tiers, celebrates its fifth birthday. And to celebrate that, and the coming of spring, she has fashioned this amazing Woodland Seasons sweet creation.

It was originally created as part of a Fairytale Forest-themed display at the prestigious Cake International exhibition at Birmingham NEC.
Fiona has recreated in sugar various floral highlights of the botanical year. From snowdrops, primroses and bluebells in the spring; moving through foxgloves and dog roses for summer; various autumnal fruits and seeds; to traditional holly and ivy for winter.

All of the “plants” and their accompanying woodland fairies were painstakingly made by hand in sugarpaste and modelling chocolate by Fiona over a period of several days in her Holgate kitchen.
Fiona says “I get to make a lot of stylised sugar flowers like roses and peonies in my day to day work as a wedding cake designer; however I love to recreate the more unusual flowers and plants.
“It makes you observe more closely the natural beauty that we too often overlook in our hectic daily lives.”
Below is a selection of some of Fiona’s previous amazing cake creations.
Fiona will be exhibiting the Woodland Seasons cake at York Hotel du Vin’s wedding fair on Sunday (March 5). No More Tiers can also be found at Middletons Hotel’s wedding showcase, also on the afternoon of Sunday
