York went back in time again today as the team behind one of ITV’s top dramas returned to the city.
This time the cast and crew of Victoria were filming on Castlegate, home of Fairfax House.
But the road was renamed, rather prosaically, High Street for the purposes of the production.

Laurence Fox was back in his role as Queen Victoria’s Foreign Secretary, Lord Palmerston.
There was no sign of Victoria herself – aka Jenna Coleman – while we were watching. And these scenes didn’t require the same number of extras seen last month during filming in the Eye of York.
But there was a rather handsome black horse pulling a carriage up and down the old street.
