Time for the geekiest date in the York calendar – as York Unleashed Comic Con returns.
Unleashed Events are back at York Racecourse hosting another fun and friendly celebration of all things geeky.
Taking place on all six floors of the Knavesmire Stand, the family day out will be full of exciting guest appearances, attractions, costume characters, movie vehicles and so much more.
York Unleashed Comic Con is at York Racecourse tomorrow – Sunday 28 August.
Some of the guest appearances this year include Will Mellor, known for the cult British sitcom Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, as well as appearances on Hollyoaks, Broadchurch and Coronation Street.
Joining Will is Game of Thrones actor, Tony Way, who worked alongside Ricky Gervais as Lenny in all three seasons of After Life as well as having the role of Ser Dontos Hollard in Game of Thrones.
Star Wars fans are in for a treat as the first female Stormtrooper Samantha Alleyne and Jedi Master Ki-Adi-Mundi aka Silas Carson will be there, as well as a very rare appearance from John Fensom – who was the person inside the costume of TC-14.
Derry Girls star Dylan Llewellyn was due to appear but has cancelled because of filming commitments.

There will be plenty of photo opportunities with superheroes such as Iron Man and Spiderman, Ghostbusters, Bumblebee from Transformers and more that will be perfect for those wow-factor photos.
Visitors can also have fun with the impressive Lego display, tabletop gaming, activity areas and lots of geeky traders – with items like toys, comics, collectables, art and jewellery to browse through.
Cosplaying isn’t essential to attend, but those in costume can enter the cosplay competition with the opportunity to win some great prizes.
Sharon Hall of Unleashed Events said, “This is a great comic-con for families of all ages, to have fun with a group of friends, or even if you just want to pop along on your own and mingle with like-minded geeks and enjoy the day!”
Advance tickets are £10 per adult, and £5 for Under 12’s.
General entry tickets can be purchased on the door from 11am on the day of the event – but it is cash only on the door.
