A tribute to the late One Direction star Liam Payne was held at York’s Museum Gardens today.
Liam died on 16 October, aged 31, after falling from a hotel room in Argentina. His death devastated fans from across the world.
In his memory, a York resident organised a memorial service, encouraging locals to bring flowers, candles, and pictures.

Liam Payne rose to worldwide fame following his X Factor audition in 2010, aged 16, singing Michael Bublé.
The show chose him to be part of One Direction, who became one of the best-selling boybands of all time.
Their hiatus was announced in January 2016, with each of the members focusing on their solo music careers.
Two weeks ago, Liam died after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aries.
Fans from across the globe have mourned the loss of Liam, with memorial services taking place in major cities across the UK.
Today, a small crowd gathered in the Museum Gardens, some wearing black and holding flowers.

At the vigil today, we spoke to Evie. She’s 17 and has been a fan of the band for a number of years.
“I was really quite upset by it, because obviously you support someone for quite a long time, so it’s a bit of a shock. It was weird, but obviously I feel worse for all of his family and everything.
“It’s just what you’ve grown up with as well. So it’s like losing your childhood, I guess.”
Some on social media had criticised the play for the tribute, but Evie disagreed.

“If you understand it, you understand it, because you put a lot of time into supporting someone.
“If you put a lot of time and energy into supporting someone, then it’s just a big loss within your life as well.”
Another long-time Directioner, Serena, was at the meet up.
Serena is 22 and told us how she felt after hearing the news, “I was as shocked as any other fan probably, shocked and in disbelief. It’s not the same without him, it’s not being the same.
“I listened to one direction music all the time and I hope that One Direction still plans to reunite.”
