The much loved community organisation Tang Hall SMART are marking their 10 year anniversary – with a day of special celebrations.
Tang Hall Smart performers past and present will take to the stage once again in a day of live music and community vibes.
The celebratory day will take place on Saturday 29 June from 2pm to 9pm at The Burnholme Centre.
Tang Hall Smart began life ten years ago this month with its very first concert – ‘The Big Gig’ at the Burnholme Community College Assembly Hall.
It was founded by Sue Williamson, a former teacher at the school which had closed after a long fight to keep it open, with the aim of keeping those community links going.
Sue said: “During the course of the last ten years, we have worked with around 1,000 people, some of whom have been with us from the very beginning and whose pathways are now linked with ours.

“It has been truly an honour, to have had the chance to be involved in so many people’s musical and artistic development, and we are looking to seeing some of those perform on Saturday.
“It is quite an emotional time really as we look backwards and pause a minute to remember all the brilliant times and fantastic people from the past, but also exciting as we look forwards to the next ten years.”
In addition to mark the special occasion, the company have created a limited edition 10th anniversary souvenir booklet and will release 100 videos on its YouTube channel that showcases the varied life of the organisation – with everything from music, to art, to the workshop, dance and drama, and sport.
