A 10-year-old-girl who was attacked by her family’s dog tragically died as a result of neck injuries, an inquest in Northallerton heard this morning.
The inquest into the death of Savannah Bentham from North Yorkshire was opened and adjourned.
North Yorkshire and York Assistant coroner Alison Norton told the inquest that Savannah Bentham suffered fatal injuries after she was attacked by her dog on 1 November 2024.
Despite efforts from medical professionals and a member of the public, Savannah died as a result of neck injuries at her home in East Heslerton.
Savannah was a pupil at West Heslerton Primary School, in Malton.
The inquest was adjourned to a date to be confirmed.
