It’s getting hot in here – as an international line up of romance writers are set to crank up the heat in York.
Tattooed Bad Boys focuses on authors who write ‘hot alpha characters’ – from rockstars to bikers to MMA fighters.
Tattooed Bad Boys 2022 takes place across two days: a meet and greet at Manahatta York on Friday 22 April and a signing event and evening party at York Racecourse on Saturday 23 April.
It won’t be like your average book signing though – rather than just meeting one author, the event will give readers the opportunity to meet over 40 authors from around the world.
This will be the third iteration of the event, with past successful events in 2018 and 2015.
The event is organised by York author Helen Stothard, who writes under the pen name Ava Manello. She first created the event in order to satisfy the demand from readers of the genre.
“I wanted to create something different for the readers,” said Helen. “The majority of our attending authors are self published which means that they can’t be found in traditional bookstores.

“Their paperbacks are often only found on Amazon and their eBooks are found on digital platforms such as iBooks, Kindle, Nook and Kobo.
“There’s a huge demand to meet these authors and with York being such a beautiful and family friendly city it seemed the perfect location to bring everyone together.”
The event will be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support during the day and at the evening party that follows.
Previous events have raised over £1470 for York House Brain Injury Hospital and £2250 which was split between Martin House Children’s Hospice and Marie Curie.
Tickets for the Tattooed Bad Boys 2022 are now on sale and available via the event’s website. Tickets start at £10.
