More than 800 people are expected at the funeral of a police officer who was killed last month.
The funeral of PC Rosie Prior will take place at York Minster on Thursday (13 February) at 11am.
PC Prior, stationed at York, was one of two people who died after being struck by a lorry on the A19 at Bagby, near Thirsk, on 11 January.
Thursday will see a full ceremonial police funeral. Officers will line the final part of the route for the funeral cortege as it arrives at York Minster.
Rosie’s family, friends, colleagues and members of North Yorkshire Police are registered to attend the service.
Members of the public will not be able to enter the Minster for the service but are welcome to line the route the funeral cortege will take along Duncombe Place.
The funeral service will also be live-streamed from the Minster on this link.
The Minster service will be followed by a private service at Thirsk crematorium.
People are being invited to make a donation to The Police Children’s Charity in Rosie’s memory. You can do so via the Just Giving page here.
