Fire and Rescue crews are currently dealing with a large agricultural fire close to the village of Tunstall just north of Leeming Bar.
Station Manager Tony Walker says no injuries have been reported at this time.
“We have appliances relaying water to the incident. Please keep away while we do our work. Thank you.”
Residents in the Scotton, Tunstall and surrounding areas are advised to close doors and windows as there is a lot of smoke.
7 fire appliances are currently fighting the fire.
