Happy April Fools’ Day! Were you caught out by the pranks, or did you manage to outsmart them all?

Well, we’ve got a round-up of jokes we thought were the very best.

Check out the list below.

York’s Chocolate Story

York’s Chocolate Story nailed their April Fools’ prank by announcing the return of the iconic fountain to Parliament Street – but with a twist.

“Get ready to dip your marshmallows and strawberries because soon, the fountain will be back and flowing with rich, velvety chocolate!”

Brimham Rocks

Brimham Rocks released a video on their Facebook page showcasing how their rangers ‘clean the rocks’ once a month, in order to keep them in pristine condition. They even used a stethoscope to check out the “condition and health” of their rocks. Not very rock and roll…

Watch the video here.

York Dog Park

York Dog Park pranked their Facebook followers by claiming they would now welcome cats and hamsters for walks at the park, thanks to customer feedback. We’re not sure how well that would have gone down with the dogs…

Flamingo Land

Flamingo Land made fairytale fans’ dreams come true this morning by promising the arrival of unicorns to the park.

Their post read, “These magical creatures will be part of our zoo experience starting today. Come visit and get your unicorn selfie!”

Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal

Sticking with the animal theme, Fountains Abbey joined in on the fun by posing their deer with bright pink antlers – just so they’re easier to spot, of course. Oh deer…

“Think pink! From today you’ll be seeing some rather fabulous chaps roaming in the Studley deer park. In a bid to improve visibility of the herds, our rangers have begun using a non-toxic antler stain on all of the stags.”

Clubbercise

The Clubbercise team highlighted a list of artists ‘banned’ from their exercise classes. The list included Scooter, David Guetta, Technotronic, Basshunter, Sigma, and the Vengaboys!

Sounds like a very quiet session to us!

York Maze

York Maze announced a brand new concept for the attraction – floating popcorn! Popcorn infused with Helium – interesting!

“Following the success of our Loaded Popcorn, we’ve worked closely with the LIPRA 1 science department at York University to create a brand new CORNcept for 2025. We’ve infused our popcorn with Helium to create… Floating popcorn!”

YorkMix

And finishing with our personal favourite: YorkMix! We claimed that our very own Ben Fry, a.k.a York’s Town Crier, was about to get a statue in his honour, with some help from a robotic ringer!
