At first glance, it looks like just another terrace street in York.
But this one is different. This one has made it big in international fashion.
Sutherland Street in South Bank is the name printed on countless jackets in and around East Asia.
In fact it is the whole address, albeit misspelled as Southerland Street, including the postcode YO23 1HG.
James, a Briton on holiday in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, found the jacket on sale in a menswear shop in the city called Space Moris.
Although it is embossed with a York, UK address it is also decorated with a US flag on the sleeve.
James shared his finding on Reddit. He told YorkMix: “The jacket caught my eye straight away!
“I went over to it to take the photo, and immediately Googled the postcode to see if it was a real address or not.
“I couldn’t believe it when I saw the postcode pointed to a normal looking suburban street, and that a clothing shop on the other side of the world was selling the jacket with this random address printed on it!”
He’s also found other examples of the jacket on social media:
James added: “I’ve no idea why the York address was on the jacket, it was very unusual.
“Although I guess not much different to people buying Superdry T-shirts with random Japanese writing on them.
“Part of me wanted to buy the jacket and take it home back to the UK, but I decided against it.”
