Fire crews are at the scene of a serious house fire in Whitby.
Crews from Whitby, Lythe, Danby and Scarborough were called to Resolution Way in the town at 5.08am today (Saturday, 27 August).
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service describe it as “a large fire with smoke blowing over Whitby towards the sea”.

A brigade spokesperson said: “All persons were confirmed out of the property and crews are currently using two main jets, two hose reel jets, four breathing apparatus and an aerial ladder platform to extinguish the fire.
“This incident is ongoing and the cause is unconfirmed at this time.”
The Cleveland fire service sent crew and an aerial ladder from Saltburn to assist in fighting the fire.
Earlier this week, fire broke out next to the beach on Tate Hill in Whitby Harbour. One fire crew put out that blaze, which happened at 8.26pm on Wednesday (24 August).
