Firefighters tackled a blaze in the Northallerton area this morning (Thursday).
Crews were called to the fire in a terrace house in Brompton at 10.36am.
It broke out in a wooden lean-to at the property, with an electrical fault from a fridge freezer believed to be the cause.
Four firefighters used breathing apparatus and three hose reels to put out the fire. A 9m ladder and thermal image cameras were also used.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The lean to sustained 100% fire damage and 100% smoke damage.
“There was also some smoke damage to the roof void of the adjacent premises.”

Fire service Group Manager Bob Hoskins said on X: “The fire involved a terrace house, no persons were injured and the fire was quickly extinguished.
“A fire investigation officer is looking into the cause.”
He added that anyone wanting a home safety check should visit the North Yorkshire fire website.
