A boy coming home from school was knocked off his bike by a car.
The boy, 11, was on his way home from Joseph Rowntree School on Wednesday, February 1, at about 3.30pm when the incident happened.
He was near the junction of Aucuba Close and Alder Way in New Earswick when an unknown vehicle shunted his bike from behind, causing him to fall off.
Fortunately his injuries were minor, mainly scrapes and bruising.
A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said:
We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
In particular, we are appealing for information about how this incident occurred, and also to identify any other persons involved, as the driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the scene of the collision.
