A York landmark is closing to visitors as it welcomes another film crew next week.
Fairfax House will close from Monday 5 to Friday 9 December, before reopening at the weekend.
Though it is unconfirmed yet what filming will be taking place at Fairfax House, it is rumoured to be The Ghost of Harold Wilson – a drama about the ex-Prime Minister, starring Shaun Dooley and Fenella Woolgar.
Castlegate, where Fairfax House is located, is a York street that has often been used for TV drama.
In 2018 ITV’s Victoria were spotted on the street, as well as BBC’s Gentleman Jack in November 2020.
The historic Georgian house is currently showcasing its Christmas exhibition – A TownMouse Christmas – which runs until Friday 23 December. It features over 200 miniature mice hiding among the decorations dressed in traditional Georgian clothing.
A spokesperson for York Civic Trust, which runs the house, said: “Fairfax House will be closed Monday to Friday next week and we will reopen on Saturday 10 continuing our Townmouse Christmas.
“It is going really well to date – we are getting lots of exceedingly positive reviews.
“It is great to see young children having a fun time in Fairfax House. The mice are having a ball of a time – it is a very photogenic exhibition which has involved a large amount of voluntary community involvement.”
