Flooding has hit the North Yorkshire village of Nunnington, and its famous manor house has been affected.
Nunnington Hall will be shut today (Sunday, 8 December) due to floodwaters coming in the wake of Storm Darragh.
The National Trust property posted this notice: “Due to flooding of our car park during the recent storm, Nunnington Hall is closed today, Sunday 8 December.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and look forward to welcoming you back soon.”
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service were called to Nunnington at 6.26am.
A spokesperson said: “A crew from Malton are currently attending a property in Nunnington where the residents have been pumping out water from around the local properties throughout the night.
“Due to their pumps now failing our crew will be attempting to assist.”
Another attraction still closed by the storm is Piglets Adventure Farm in York.
On Facebook, it said: “Sadly we have done a site inspection and Storm Darrgh has not left us yet.
“All visitors with tickets today will be emailed with details for a full refund.
“We have done our best to remain hopeful that we could re-open today as we know the awful disappointment it causes, but the safety of our visitors, team and animals needs to be our first priority.
“Our small team will work hard to issue all refunds promptly.
“We thank you in advance for your kindness and understanding.”
