Santa was spotted having his summer holidays at Whitby Beach.
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) created a giant sand sculpture of Santa at Whitby Beach, to celebrate the launch of their Santa Specials – with tickets now on sale.
A much loved and popular festive event, the Santa Specials are an unforgettable journey through North Yorkshire aboard the decorated steam train. An experience for the whole family, the Santa Specials feature children’s activities and entertainment throughout the journey.
And of course, you’ll meet Santa and his special team of elves!
The Santa Specials will take place on 25 and 26 November, 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23 and 24 December. They will depart from either Pickering or Grosmont stations, with four trips throughout the day.
Aboard the Santa Express, every child will have the opportunity to meet Santa Claus – and receive a special gift from the jolly man himself. Santa’s Elves will also be sharing stories and playing games.

There will be seasonal treats onboard as well to enjoy, from hot chocolate with marshmallows to tasty gingerbread biscuits.
It’s never too early to start feeling excited for Christmas, and NYMR promises a magical day out full of holiday cheer for all the family.
Tickets cost £30 per person, which includes a present for each child.
