File this one under ‘great new things to do when the lockdown’s over’.
Because a brand new facility to keep youngsters active is due to open in York soon.
The Little Gym is aimed at children aged from four months old to 12 years old. There are many franchises across the world, and the Little Gym York is due to open as part of the York Stadium Leisure Complex.
The gym says on its website:
Our age-appropriate children’s activities are serious fun!
We use movement, music, learning and laughter to nurture ongoing skill development and boost self-esteem.
Different classes
The first Little Gym was set up in Washington, US. There are now 400 around the world.
Classes include:
- Parent-child – for children aged four months to three years
- Pre-school gymnastics – ages 3-6
- Primary school gymnastics – ages 6-12.
On the website, gym owner Kate Henebury said it was due to open in 2019, but was delayed along with the rest of the stadium.
Now of course, it is delayed also by the coronavirus lockdown. But you can register for more information on the website.
It joins other businesses confirmed at the stadium complex, including the Hollywood Bowl bowling alleys, and Puttstars mini-golf.
