A York organisation wants to hear from people whose health has been affected by the rising cost of living.
Healthwatch York is asking people to share their experiences, to develop a real understanding of how rising costs are affecting people’s physical and mental health.
Siân Balsom, manager at Healthwatch York, said: “We’re already hearing from people who are struggling due to rising costs.
“More of the calls and emails we receive through our Information and Signposting service now highlight money, or the lack of it, as a concern.
“Similarly when we are out and about at libraries and community centres, rising costs are on everyone’s minds.
“We know some people find it hard to talk about money worries. But as part of the Healthwatch network, we are encouraging everyone to speak up.
“The more we hear, the more we can highlight what’s really happening for people in York, and the impact this has on people’s physical and mental health.”
All of the feedback from the survey will be published, and shared with Healthwatch England to feed into national work on the impact of rising costs on health.
“It will also help us target local support activity and resources to where they are most needed,” said Siân.
