Have you ever wanted to be more like Legolas or Katniss Everdeen?
Now’s your chance – as Yorkshire Activity Centre, based in York, is welcoming everyone to take aim for the first time and have a go at archery on Monday 6 May.
Whether you’ve tried archery before or have never thought about picking up a bow and arrow, this is a perfect chance to give it a go.
It’s part of Start Archery Week (4-12 May) which sees archery clubs and providers across the country open their doors to potential archers, giving people of all ages and abilities the chance to try archery for the first time.
The event at Yorkshire Activity Centre is open to adults and children from age 10 – making it a perfect day out for friends and family.
The cost will be £10 per person, with £3 going to charity. To book your slot email [email protected].
Instructors will also be on hand to guide you through the basics, and so attendees can have an enjoyable and safe time.
“Aside from its brilliant social appeal, archery has many health benefits for both body and mind and it’s for everyone, regardless of physical ability,” said Ben Bellwood, owner of Yorkshire Activity Centre.
“This year’s nationwide event is shining a light on the mental health benefits of archery and how the sport can help people’s minds as well as their bodies. It can support increased mindfulness, enhance mental and emotional wellbeing, reduce stress and boost confidence as well as developing strength and fitness.
“Everyone at Yorkshire Activity Centre is really looking forward to welcoming participants to our event so please do come down if you can.”
