It’s not long until entries close for our YorkMix Hero awards 2024 – and we’re looking for some outstanding talent!
For The Outstanding Talent Award, with The Web Adventure Park, we are looking for someone of any age who has an outstanding talent in any field.
Do you know a super sports star, a dynamic dancer, an astounding singer, an amazing artist, or a brilliant baker? We want to know about them!

The YorkMix Hero Awards 2024 are kindly supported by Yorkshire Profiles – providers of quality assured metal fabrication at the heart of North Yorkshire.
We’re not only looking for outstanding talent though.
Are you wanting to say thank you to someone in your life or local area who has gone above and beyond? They might be a parent, environmental hero, or neighbour – take a look below at the full list of categories open for nomination.
- The New Business of the Year Award – for a business startup which has made a real difference in its first two years of trading
- The Educator of the Year Award – for a teacher, class room assistant, nursery keyworker or anyone else who goes above and beyond to help educate, and support, others
- The Neighbour of the Year Award, with Hayley Owen – for an incredible person who helps or gives their time to the benefit of everyone else within their immediate local area
- The Outstanding Bravery Award, with Middletons Hotel and Emperors Gym – for someone who has demonstrated or continues to demonstrate incredible acts of bravery
- The Environmental Hero Award, with Taylor’s of Acomb – for a hero who has gone above and beyond to help the environment
- The Best Boss Award – for a leader, an inspiration, or an all round good egg, who makes coming to work a pleasure
- The “In The Face of Adversity” Award, with Matt Gray Hospitality – for someone who has fallen on hard times, faced illness or other hardship yet has beaten the odds and become a shining example to others
- The Parent or Guardian of the Year Award, with Mama Doreen’s Cupcake Emporium – for a person who truly is a cut above the rest, who makes every day special and is always there to help
- The Incredible Child Award, with Fairfax Plant Hire – for a child who has achieved something beyond their years or made a difference in their community
- The Charity Fundraiser of the Year Award, with Ate O’Clock Restaurant – for someone who, rain or shine, gives their time to ensuring the financial needs of a charity are met
The final category, the Ultimate Hero Award, will be open for voting the night of the awards ceremony.
Entries close on Sunday 12 May at 23:59:00. The shortlisted finalists will then be selected by a panel of judges, before being revealed on Wednesday 15 May.
The grand awards ceremony will take place at York Racecourse on Friday 7 June 2024.
