YorkMix were celebrating International Women’s Day by bringing together some incredible women in business.
The free networking event took place today (Friday) at Pink by Impossible York, and aimed to champion business women from York and the North Yorkshire area.
There were some amazing guest speeches, lots of chats with cocktails and coffee, and a fantastic atmosphere of women lifting each other up.
The event had a fabulous turn-out, with women from local businesses such as York Mumbler, York Bid, Spark:York, Door 84, York RLFC, and more.
YorkMix Radio presenters Laura Castle from the breakfast show and Victoria Charles from the mid-morning show hosted the event and interviewed guests – and also played a game of Mug for the Money! The lucky winner received a copy of How to be in Business by York author – and brilliant businesswoman – Jacky Fitt.
The afternoon also featured some amazing speeches from the women in attendance, including a powerful speech from Ceri Wright, founder of The Millie Wright Children’s Charity – a vital charity that addresses inequalities and provides support for families and carers looking after children with life threatening conditions.
Thank you to everyone who attended our event, it was inspiring to be in a room full of incredible women.
Happy International Women’s Day from everyone here at YorkMix!
