Pizza company Domino’s is to open a new branch in York – serving up new jobs and a half-price opening offer.
The UK’s leading pizza business will open a store at 8 Matmer House, Hull Road, formerly home to the Oriental Express supermarket, on Monday, November 7.
Pizza fans near Hull Road will now be able to order from Domino’s well-known range of pizzas, sides, desserts and soft drinks.
The new business will also create 25 jobs – including pizza makers, customer service staff and delivery drivers.
As an opening offer customers will get 50% off when they spend £30 online.
Operations director at Domino’s Ricky Kandola said: “We’re thrilled to be opening our doors to the people of York.
“There’s also plenty of employment opportunity for people living in York, so we look forward to welcoming local pizza superstars to join our growing team.”
Training and opportunities

Domino’s offers employees full training, ranging from dough management and food hygiene for pizza makers through to road safety for all delivery drivers.
A spokesperson for Domino’s said the company “recruits on the basis of ability and, as many team members go on to management positions in under two years, this recruitment drive is a fantastic opportunity”.
The company is an Age Positive Employer Champion, which means that it has been recognised for its commitment to welcoming applicants of all ages.
