This weekend’s featured Grassroots game saw us head to New Earswick, to watch the New Earswick All Blacks take on East Leeds, in what turned out to be a very competitive game of Under 11s rugby league.
I was joined by two very special guests, York Knights Prop forwards Ronan Michael and Bailey Antrobus, who kindly gave up their Saturday morning to come down and watch both teams in action.

The game did not disappoint! It was an end to end match with lots of brave running, hard tackling, and of course tries!
Though scores aren’t published, New Earswick edged this one with both of our York Knights choosing a Player of the Match from each team to receive a YorkMix goodie back thanks to our friends at York Sport. Congrats to Charlie from East Leeds and Elliot from New Earswick!
A huge thanks to all the staff, parents and players from both clubs for making us feel so welcome. And of course, to York Knights and both Ronan and Michael for giving up their Saturday morning to come and support grassroots rugby league.
