York will go to the ball next year – as the Grand Opera House have revealed their pantomime for 2025.
The theatre have announced that their next pantomime will be Cinderella.
The news comes ahead of the opening of this year’s brand-new magical pantomime, Beauty and the Beast, which runs from Saturday 7 December 2024 to Sunday 5 January 2025.
Cinderella will run from Saturday 6 December 2025 to Sunday 4 January 2026, with tickets going on general sale next Friday at 12pm (13 December). Tickets will start from £15, and early bird bookings before 1 February 2025 will save you £8 per ticket on select performances and seats.
Laura McMillan, theatre director, said, “As we open the spectacular Beauty and the Beast on Saturday we’re delighted that UK Productions will be returning next year with the most beloved of pantomimes of all time, Cinderella.
“I’m sure adults and children alike will be spellbound by this magical new show.”
Audiences can expect side-splitting comedy, lavish settings and adorable miniature ponies.
It will once again be produced by UK Productions, with a script by Jon Monie – writer of this year’s production of Beauty and the Beast and winner of Best Script at the Great British Pantomime Awards 2019.
Casting for Cinderella is yet to be announced but the theatre have said to ‘expect stars from the West End and screen.’
And there’s still time to get your tickets for Beauty and The Beast – that stars CBBC’s Dani Harmer, and musical theatre talents Jennifer Caldwell, Samuel Wyn-Morris and Leon Craig.
