Fancy yourself as one of the three musketeers? Then here’s your chance to buckle and swash on the streets of York – and it’s all perfectly legal…
York’s spooky outdoor thespian troupe, Nightshade Productions, are bringing The Three Musketeers to the city this summer, from July 23 to August 10.
But they need a cast – and have launched an appeal for would-be D’Artagnans to audition.
In recent years, the city’s liveliest theatre company, who are also responsible for the blood-curdling York Terror Trail, have thrilled walkabout audiences with Shakespeare (Midsummer Night’s Dream), Dickens (A Christmas Carol) and some even darker offerings, such as their Halloween special All Hallows.
The street theatre takes place at various locations around the city, with dramatic scenes being acted out with the Minster as a backdrop, or tucked away in Newgate Market, or the churchyard at Holy Trinity.
Auditions take place on April 2 at the Royal Oak, Goodramgate.
