Digital giants Google will be in York this Thursday (July 16) as part of an event to help businesses make the most of the digital world.
The ‘Go Digital’ with Google Digital Garage event is designed to help entrepreneurs learn and benefit from new digital skills and use the internet to grow and attract more customers.
Organised by the York Digital City team, you can drop in between 10am and 3pm and experts will help you identify your specific business needs and find the best solutions for them. Google will be presenting at 1pm.
YorkMix will be going, along with City of York Council, TalkTalk, Landlord Broadband, York Data Services and BT among others. Their online expertise will help businesses make the most of their connectivity.
One of the benefits on offer is the Connection Voucher scheme to reduce the cost of speeding up your business broadband.
Digital city
The voucher scheme is one element of York’s strategy to become the best connected digital city of its size in Britain.
In addition, York is working with a private sector partnership to become a Gigabit city in 2017.
Google is involved via its Digital Garage.
This is a multi-million pound programme which aims to provide digital skills training to 200,000 small businesses, both online and in person at pop-up training venues like York.
