Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle has been revealed as the headline act for this year’s York Pride.
York Pride made the announcement this morning (Friday).
The Derry-born Gemini is known for several iconic moments such as losing her passport and her pronunciation of the word ‘flour’ – and now she’ll be wowing audiences with her incredible voice come June.
York Pride will take place on Saturday 18 June on the Knavesmire.
“After a few years away we wanted to come back with a bang,” said Greg Stephenson, event and sponsorship director for York Pride.
“We are over the moon to have Nadine joining us on 18th June, headlining a full day of inclusive celebration on the Knavesmire.”
This year will be the first in-person York Pride event since 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and 2022 also marks 50 years since the first Pride in the UK.
Nadine Coyle was one of the members of the girl group Girls Aloud and has also appeared on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in 2019, where she finished in fifth place.
RuPaul’s Drag Race star Divina De Campo was also revealed to be performing earlier this week.
