Police deployed air support to find a girl in an ‘extremely vulnerable’ state close to a railway line last night.
Officers received what they described as “a very concerning call about a young teenage girl who had left her home in a very vulnerable state” on Monday (September 10) at about 7.30pm.
She was discovered by the police helicopter crew near the rail tracks in the Hessay area at around 8.45pm.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:

We take calls of this nature extremely seriously. We deployed as many available resources as we could, including the National Police Air Service helicopter to search for the girl.
At around 8.45pm the girl was located by our NPAS colleagues in an extremely vulnerable situation near a railway line in the outer York area.
The girl is now receiving the help and support she needs.
