Let’s hope this sunshine is here to stay – as a staple of summer in York is back.
Thor’s Tipi at Principal York opens from 3pm today (Friday), and as well as the iconic tent, visitors can expect new seating areas, fab food and drink offerings, and plenty of fun in the (fingers crossed) sun.
Thor’s will be at the Principal until 27 August. After today, it will be open every day from 12pm to 11pm.

With the return of the recognisable Thor’s tent to the Principal grounds, there are also a few new additions to look forward to.
“We’ve got a new selfie wall with wings and lights to stand in front of,” said events and marketing manager, Polly Smith.
“We’ve got a new style terrace this year, we’ve opened it up to let the sun come on to everyone.
“There’s lots of seating out in the gardens and a new style summer pagoda inside.”
There is also new lawn games to play that are fun for all the family, including giant Connect 4 and giant Jenga.
