Dragons are taking over York this half term!
Dragons will be roaming Parliament Street and St Sampson’s Square on Saturday 26 October as part of The Dragon Experience.
From 2pm to 6pm, meet Ash the Giant Dragon and a selection of adorable baby dragons – along with their handlers to keep them in order.
Visitors will have the chance to get up close with the dragons to snap some selfies and even see them breathe smoke…if you dare.
There will also be representatives from the police and fire services on site, with the opportunity to check out the emergency vehicles.
York Bid and Make It York have also partnered to celebrate Halloween with live pumpkin carving on Parliament Street on Thursday 31 October from 10am to 4pm.
Yorkshire-based creatives Sand in Your Eye will be making the spooky masterpieces live in the city centre, and passersby can watch the intricate and ghostly designs come to life before their eyes.
The Dragon Experience and live pumpkin carving are Purple Flag events – a project that’s administered by York Bid with the aim to make York a safe, enjoyable and welcoming destination for York.
