Fire crews were called to an incident north of Ripon this morning (Sunday).
They went to West Tanfield at 9.22am.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crew were mobilised to a report of smoke coming from a field.
“This was a small fire caused by downed power lines, believed to have been due to Geese colliding with the lines. Northern Powergrid in attendance.”
