A gang who struck at a shop in York made off with the safe.
Two men and five women entered the Macraes First Stop store on Huntington Road at 5.30pm on Monday, March 26.
A police spokeswoman said: “It is believed that the men engaged the shop workers with enquiries to distract them whilst the women carried out the burglary.”

The gang stole a safe. They are thought to have made off in a large black people carrier style vehicle.
Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area of the time of the burglary, who may have seen a vehicle matching the description, the group of people, or anything which aroused suspicion, to contact them.
