A gang of youths assaulted and attempted to rob a man on a path by the River Ouse.
It happened at 7pm last Tuesday (9 November) on the path between Lendal Bridge and Scarborough Rail Bridge.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “It involved a group of five or six youths assaulting a male and demanding money.

“Officers are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
“In particular, they are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.”
