The famous Cat Gallery in Low Petergate in York has managed to raise £2,000 in four days for cats caught up in the conflict in Ukraine.
Owners, Peter and Alison Hanson, said they had been very shocked by pictures and reports coming out of the county.
One of the charities that have supported for the last few years, International Cat Care, has links with the key animal organisations in Eastern Europe and will help to target donations.
